GALAPAGOS ISLAND HOPPING EXPEDITION – SANTA CRUZ & ISABELA – 7 days

DAY 1 – FLY TO GALAPAGOS – TURTLE RANCH, LAVA TUNNELS:
You will meet a person from our team in the airport and we will offer assistance at the process of paper work for the Galapagos. You will check in for your flight to the Galapagos.

At arrival, you will meet their tour guide who will be holding a sign with your name. You will then visit the Santa Cruz highlands. The first stop will be the twin craters, which are impressive holes were formed by magma (lava) domes which hardened on the outside but continued to flow on the inside, leaving huge but empty chambers that collapsed with the passing of time,
creating this breathtaking scenery that resembles two pit crates.

After that you will visit the Tortoise Ranch, this is the place to go to for seeing giant tortoises roaming around free. You will have lunch at this place. After that, you will go to the walk through the lava tunnels, which are underground tunnels formed by ancient lava that once flowed across these islands.

When the outside layers of lava cooled, they formed a crust while the interior lava still flowed hot and fast. Eventually, the lava inside flowed out of the crust and left a tunnel or a tube behind.

After this, the tour guide will take you to the hotel for check in.

DAY 2 – TOUR TO SANTA FE ISLAND
You will leave the hotel at 08h00 to the pier of Puerto Ayora, where we will take our boat to Santa Fe. Santa Fe Island is located South East of Santa Cruz Island.

The snorkel will take place in a bay called Fisherman Bay in Santa Fe Island; here you may spot sea turtles, rays, sea lions, fishes, Galapagos sharks and many more in this rocky reef.

Lunch is on board. The tour also visits a beach called Playa Escondida.

After this you will go back to Santa Cruz.

DAY 3 – FERRY TO ISABELA. TOUR TO TINTORERAS
In the morning AROUND 6am you will take a ferry to Isabela Island. Is a 2 hour ferry that leaves at 07h00 and you will get there at 9am. You will go to Hotel Albermarle. You will have
the morning free to explore the town, you can rent bikes this day.

At 2pm You will be picked up in the afternoon to board a boat for the short ride to Tintoreras Islet.

Tintoreras Islet, located near Isabela Island, is a haven for wildlife and offers a unique opportunity to witness Galapagos marine life up close.

The guided tour will take you around the islet, allowing you to observe a variety of animals, including marine iguanas, sea lions, and Galapagos penguins.

Explore the clear waters surrounding the islet on a snorkeling adventure. You’ll have the chance to swim alongside curious sea turtles-

DAY 4 – TOUR TO LOS TUNELES DE CABO ROSA
You will be picked up at 11am at your hotel and head to the dock and board a boat for a short ride to Los Tuneles de Cabo Rosa.

Your guide will lead you through the intricate lava tunnels and arches that make up Los Tuneles, explaining the geological history and significance of this natural wonder.

Snorkel in the clear, shallow waters surrounding the tunnels, where you’ll encounter a breathtaking array of marine life. Swim alongside graceful sea turtles, colorful tropical fish, and
perhaps even the fascinating seahorses that inhabit the area.

Explore underwater caves and marvel at the incredible underwater landscapes created by millennia of volcanic activity.

DAY 5 : VOLCANO HIKE IN ISABELA. FERRY BACK TO SANTA CRUZ
In the morning you will go for a hike to Sierra Negra Volcano. This is a trek uphill along gentle slopes through lush, fern-covered trees. Once you reach the rim of the volcano, you will admire the second largest crater in the world at a whopping six miles in diameter and plunging down 300 feet to the bottom of the caldera. If you want you want you can continue your hike
to Volcan Chico or just come back to the town.

Later you will take the ferry back to San Cruz Island and check in in the hotel.

DAY 6 – TOUR TO SANTA CRUZ BAY AND TORTUGA BAY
In the morning you will be picked up at 09h15, and board a boat to the bay of Santa Cruz. The first sport will be La Lobería Islet. This is like a sea lion kinder garden and its a great place to
swim and enjoy the sealife. We’ll hop off the boat and do some snorkeling around the islet.

After the snorkeling session, the next stop is Playa de los Perros to see some crabs and other endemic species.

Punta Estrada is another remarkable spot in the Galápagos Islandas. Its a bay with very calm clear waters where we’ll enjoy another snorkeling session to see some blue footed boobies, fregatebirds and sea lions.

Finally the Bay Tour ends at Las Grietas, an iconic and one of the most visited places at Santa Cruz Island. Its famous because of its cristal clear waters and because its like a natural swiming pool.

DAY 7 – TRANSFER TO AIRPORT – FLIGHT TO QUITO OR GUAYAQUIL
You will be picked up at your hotel and be transferred to the airport to take your flight back to Quito. In Quito you will meet your driver to go to the hotel
